Conference Introduction
China is striving for a new era of “high-quality development”, which presents both exciting opportunities and daunting challenges for an innovative, inclusive, and integrated urban future. It is high time for urban China scholars, especially the younger generation, to explore both theoretically and empirically intriguing issues/questions for Chinese transitional urbanism. The 2025 UCRN conference at the “Panda City”, Chengdu, will provide an exciting and timely platform to facilitate exchanges centering on the 3Is (Innovation, Inclusion, and Integration) of urban China between scholars, experts, officials, and graduate students from different countries, cities, institutes, and disciplinaries. We welcome papers from all social science perspectives, including urban studies, urban planning and design, geography, sociology, anthropology, economics, demography, history, management, political science, and public policy.
